Golf Swing Lessons :
Watching Golf on TV, I knew it was easy to play. I didn't need swing golf courses, or a golf driving lesson, I watched hours of golf on television and considered myself a golf expert , After all, I knew everything there was to know about golf.
Ihad already planned my career as a professional golfer. I was already counting the huge sums of money in the bank; I was going to do. I imagined my golfing career. I could clearly see myself, my arms wrapped around the thin waist of a very pretty blonde. I was teaching him some kind of golf swing class. Yes, I could see everything, I also had a bright future to look forward to.
Then something hit me very hard that brought me back to reality. I had no income. A good set of golf clubs costs a lot of money. Money I didn't have. I called the local golf course and asked about their annual membership fees. I went into shock; it costs thousands of dollars, far beyond my financial reach.
I asked for the cost of a professional golf instructor for a golf swing lesson; just to see what it costs. It costs several hundred dollars for basic lessons. I was not a happy golfer.
I rallied and called some of my friends who told me they would rent me cheap golf clubs. They even offered to sign me up for the golf course for free on their memberships.
I presented myself on a day full of confidence, which was increasing from minute to minute. I paid $25.00 to my Partner Australian Golf for the clubs. He suggested that I first take a golf swing lesson. I argued that I didn't need golf lessons.
We headed to the first tee and I removed the covers of my committed club heads. I was confused when I noticed that the club leaders were the wrong way? Oh no; I began to curse as it slowly began to appear on me. I had just been a victim of the oldest golf tour of the book. I had been defrauded to pay for a set of golf clubs for left-handed people.
I was livid with anger and embarrassment. My Australian friends laughed at the heads; tears of joy rolled down their cheeks as they held their painful sides and fell to the ground writhing and laughing uncontrollably. I didn't find it funny at all. They laughed all the more at my outbursts of anger.
I became even more angry when I found out I could rent a set of golf clubs at the clubhouse for only $7.00, I had been duped twice. I now had $32.00 out of my own pocket. My friends thought it was extremely funny and I was again made to laugh. I felt stupid and totally embarrassed. »
Finally, I was back on the first tee. Ready to show these guys what I was made of? I approached the tee and drove this golf ball with all the strength I could bring. I looked in stunned silence as the ball abruptly swerved to the left and then began to arc to the right and return to its origin like a Boomerang.
I heard a comment somewhere behind me; "This ball is an Australian ballmate; it immediately comes back to him like a good Boomerang." "I can say; you've never had a golf swing course in your life, you need some golf lessons.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't understand it. I was gutted. He didn't do that on television? I was really depressed. My first day on the golf course gradually worsened. I'd rather not talk about it or think about it. Even today, he still has the power to ruin my mood and destroy my whole day. Right now, I would like the ground to engulf me. I also wish I had taken a golf swing lesson to heal my slice after this shot.
One thing I knew for sure, I needed a golf swing lesson quickly and as soon as possible, rather than later. What I learned from all this:
- If a sport seems easy; especially golf, an experienced professional in any sport
Can make it look so easy
- Do the research before you make a fool of yourself?
- Beware of Australian golfers, they are jokers who like to make the new guy laugh
- Take basic golf courses before deciding to become a professional
- Find a quick, easy and effective way to learn about golf or the sport of your choice
It is easier to learn from other people's mistakes; that your own embarrassment
Things are very different today from when I started. Many basic information is available for free online. Good golf lessons are more accessible and cost-effective. If these golf swing courses were available for free and at low cost in my day, things would have gone much better. I would have achieved my goal of becoming a professional golfer. Unfortunately, this was not the case and I became a tutor instead.
