How to Fix Golf Slice Shots Fast

Do you hit slice shots? I have worked with many golfers at my golf school who do, and one could argue that the slice of golf is the Achilles heel of the average golfer. I don't think there's anything worse than standing over a ball knowing that your golf ball will curl up right-field with the revenge of a swarm of angry hornets.

I bet you'd sometimes want there to be anti-slicing golf swing software that you could install that guaranteed to straighten out the worst slice of golf you could hit? Well, I haven't invented golf swing software yet, but I have a simple anti-slicing golf swing system that straightens out the most vicious blow you have.

In this article, I will explain step by step the procedure you need to quickly correct golf slice strokes, which will result in greater confidence in golf and lower golf scores. But first, I have to explain a few simple concepts that will allow us to get off on the right foot.

Concept 1 - There are no straight lines in a golf swing

I read in golf instruction books where they suggested moving the golf club in a straight line to the target for an extended period after the golf ball was hit. If you've read this, or if you believe that, you need to rethink this one. If you swing the golf club towards the target after your golf ball has left the face of the club, you will probably hit the ground behind the ball, significantly reduce the distance of your shot and hit your shots with a big slice.

The golf club moves in an arc and your job is to make sure it stays that way. Any attempt to straighten the golf club head course leads to disaster. Golf clubs don't behave like crochet mallets, where the goal is to swing it back and forth in a straight line.

Concept 2 - Keep your head still as you hit your shot

Think about it, how hard do you think it is to keep your head still when your shoulders are spinning around your spine at about thirty miles per hour and your arms are moving at about fifty miles per hour? Your head is designed to rotate on top of your spine easily and frequently, so you need to allow it to move in harmony with your shoulders and arms.

I know what you probably think you've been told more than once to keep your head down, and motionless, so you can hit a good shot of golf. How's it going for you? I've seen many golfers try to keep their heads down and hit the worst slices of golf or the bad golf shots you can imagine. Allow your head to rotate freely with your shoulders and arms and this will reduce excessive tension in your shoulders and neck that results in sharp oscillations and a high probability of injury to your neck, shoulders or back.

The correct right shoulder angle to correct golf slice strokes

Ok, now let's do only three things that will reduce the curvature of your slice shot by at least half. The first is to make sure that in the address position, your right shoulder is lower and behind your left shoulder.

What do I mean from the bottom and back?

Your right shoulder has a great responsibility in the back swing and swing down by providing your arms and hands with their direction. You want your right shoulder to be tilted much lower than your left so that your shoulders can rotate on a flatter bow on the rear swing. Your shoulders and feet will ideally point to the right of your target in the address position. This will help you turn a little more on the rear swing and also slow down their acceleration (especially the right shoulder) in the swing down so that your arms and hands can catch up with your shoulders a little earlier.

The right golf catch to correct golf slice shots

When you place your hands on the golf handle, you need to place them more clockwise on the handle. The thumb of your left hand should be placed on the side of the handle around 2 o'clock so that the back of your hand is turned to the sky and not to the target. When placing your right hand on the golf handle, place your right hand on your left thumb and make sure it is mainly held in the lower joints of the fingers of the right hand.

The right hand should be aligned with the handle so that if you open your hand completely, it is directed directly towards the target. It is not advisable to lock your right and left handles, simply place both hands comfortably with the feeling that the bottom of the right hand is far from the top of the handle. The overlapping or nesting of the hands of the handle reduces the rotation functionality of the wrists, making it more difficult to close the club face across the impact zone.

The swing trajectory and the face angle of the club to correct golf slice shots

Finally, the trajectory of your arms and hands must cross the ball on the right trajectory in the back swing and swing down. When you stand above the ball in the address position, you can imagine dividing your golf ball into four, the inner quarter when you look at it (between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.) is the quarter of your hit with the club head on the descending swing. The strength of your arm swing should move your golf swing through this place towards the upper left quarter.
Now, no more than twelve inches through this left upper quadrant, your club face will have rolled closed enough for your golf club's toe to point directly along your target line toward your target. Your right arm will be straight at the same time and the combination of the swing trajectory and the closed angle of the club face will hit the golf ball so that the resulting ball stealing will be much straighter.

These three steps are the key to quickly fixing your golf slice shots. By correctly adjusting the angles of your right shoulder down and backwards, you will guide the path of your arms through the golf ball on the right path and the right trajectory.
